Frequently Asked Questions

General

Go to the Apnea DYN or Apnea CWT application page and see if your model is on the compatibility list.

Compatibility lists:

Garmin has introduced a limitation on the depth measurement of all models of the last generation (Fenix 7 series, Forerunner 945 and all recent models) preventing the reading of depths over 3m.

Moreover, it seems that this limitation has been carried over to the Fenix 6 series in the latest update (21.00).

Touch screen watches are not yet really suitable for aquatic activities, as contact with water generates false touches. In order to avoid this problem, it is recommended to create a shortcut to lock the screen when using Apnea.

Garmin does not want to publish applications such as freediving, diving, base jump, etc ...

Here a message from Garmin about that : App Aproval Exceptions

Apnea is available in English and French.

No, because third-party applications run in a virtual machine that completely isolates the application from the rest of the system.

The new models (like Fenix 6, Forerunner 945, Venu, etc...) refer to a maximum pressure value of ~1.7Bar, i.e. a maximum measurable depth of ~7m.
